Regulatory Affairs
Public Utilities Board (PUB)
All NTPC operating expenses and capital expenditures are reviewed by the Northwest Territories Public Utilities Board (PUB), through a public process or a public hearing. The purpose of the PUB is to ensure that all charges to customers are fair and reasonable. The main function of the PUB is to protect the public interest by reviewing the evidence and approving, adjusting or rejecting the request.
Electricity rates are based on the cost of generating and distributing power plus the cost of operating and maintaining the electrical system and the cost of meeting other customer service requirements. To view a summary of Generation, Sales, and Revenue for your community, please Click Here.
As a regulated utility NTPC can only charge customers PUB approved costs – and not a dollar more.
