Plant Operator

YELLOWKNIFE, NT

Under the general supervision of the Manager, Plant Operations, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the hydro and diesel electrical generating units, plants and their respective auxiliary equipment at the Hydro/Diesel sites. 

Qualifications: High School Diploma with coursework in Power Engineering or an electrical/mechanical discipline preferred, along with several years of related experience. Equivalencies will be considered.  Computer literacy, & above average communication skills are required.  Must be eligible for a class 5 Drivers license.  This position requires rotating day shifts in isolated hydro sites for extended periods of time.

Salary starts at $ 33.57 per hour.  We offer an accommodation and location allowance of approx $8,100 per annum.   We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a Defined Benefit Pension Plan.  No relocation will be provided.  This competition may be used to fill future vacancies.
