Engine Fire at Jackfish Plant Yellowknife (November 8, 2005) On Monday, November 7, at approximately 5pm, the Northwest Territories Power Corporation( NTPC) experienced an engine fire in one of the three diesel plants at their Jackfish Power Plant in Yellowknife. The fire was put out by NTPC personnel who responded to the fire alarms. As well the Yellowknife Fire Department was called and responded to the plant. The fire resulted in a 10 to 25 minute power outage in Yellowknife. The cause of the fire is being investigated. -30- For more information, contact:
