Power Outage - Fort McPherson
Update 3

Reliable electrical supply has been restored in Fort McPherson with the arrival and installation of an 800kW generator, transported into Fort McPherson from Edmonton late last week. This new generator will further improve the stability of the system for the medium term.

The Corporation has also decided to bring a second replacement 900kW generator into the community to provide the same level of security and reliability of supply that Fort McPherson enjoyed prior to the fire on Monday January 19 th . This generator is coming out of Vancouver and should arrive at the site on Wednesday this week.

This decision will also allow the Corporation to return one of the emergency generators shipped into the community early last week as the first relief units, to the normal status of emergency units.

The Corporation will now turn its attention to planning to rebuild the plant on a permanent basis.

The cause of the fire has not yet been established.
