(June 28) - Minister Responsible for the Northwest Territories
Power Corporation (NWTPC) Joe Handley today announced a new appointment
and a reappointment to the NWTPC Board of Directors.
Mr. Ric Bolivar,
owner-operator of Ryfan Electric Ltd since 1979, brings with him a wealth
of board experience. He has been appointed to the Corporation's Board
of Directors for a three-year term.
Mr. Bolivar was
a founding member of the Arctic College Board - serving four years with
the Executive Committee and three years as Chairman of the Finance Committee.
He has served as President and Director of the NWT Construction Association
and as a member of the GNWT Trade Advisory Committee. Mr. Bolivar is
also a member of the Stanton Regional Hospital Foundation. His appointment
to the NWTPC Board is effective July 1, 2002 to June 30, 2005.
Eric Shelton of
Calgary, Alberta has been re-appointed for a three-year term commencing
September 1, 2002. Mr. Shelton was first appointed to the Corporation's
Board of Directors in September 1998. Mr. Shelton worked for TransCanada
Pipelines/NOVA Gas Transmission Ltd. for thirty years prior to his retirement
in 1999.

expertise and experience represented by members of the NWT Power Corporation's
Board of Directors is critical to the ongoing success and growth of
the Corporation", Mr. Handley said. "These appointments will
ensure that power continues to be delivered across the North in a safe
and reliable manner."
