Outages

• March 16, 2010 - Gameti, NT - Planned Outage - NTPC is conducting routine work on the community's distribution system from 7:00-11:00pm. Customers may experience a few brief outages during this period. Click here for more details.

• February 14, 2010 - Yellowknife, NT - A partial outage occurred when a generating unit at the Bluefish plant tripped out of service at 3:27PM. Full power was restored at 4:06PM.

• January 24, 2010 - Ulukhaktok, NT - Ulukhaktok experienced a total outage at 6:30AM due to an electrical fault with one of the plant's diesel generators. Power was manually restored at 7:00AM.

• January 22, 2010 - Aklavik, NT - Aklavik experienced two total outages at 7:35AM and 11:30AM due to a mechanical fault with one of the plant's diesel generators. Power was manually restored at 8:00AM and 11:45AM respectively.

• January 22, 2010 - Ulukhaktok, NT - Ulukhaktok experienced a total outage at 4:30AM due to an electrical fault with one of the plant's diesel generators. Power was manually restored at 5:00AM.

• January 20, 2010 - NUL - Hay River and Fort Resolution, NT -  Hay River and Fort Resolution experienced outages at approximately 12:00PM, which appear to have been caused by a fault with Northland Utilities Ltd.'s (NUL) substation in Hay River. Power was restored to Fort Resolution in 14 minutes via diesel generation. Power was restored to Hay River at approximately 1:15PM via hydro generation. There was no loss of hydro from Taltson hydro facility during this time.
• January 20, 2010 - NUL - Yellowknife, NT - The Niven Lake area experienced four brief, partial outages overnight due to issues with Northland Utilities Ltd.'s (NUL) distribution system. NUL is currently investigating the issue.
• January 3, 2010 - Aklavik, NT - 14 customers in Aklavik experienced an outage at 3:30PM due to a blown line fuse. The plant superintendent attempted to restore power manually, but was the attempt was unsuccessful. A line crew was flown to from Inuvik at 6:30PM. The crew landed in Aklavik at 7:10PM and restored power at approximately 7:40PM.
