Mr. Peter Allen of Yellowknife serves as Vice Chairman of the NWT Power Corporation. He graduated from Dalhousie University (1972) with a Bachelor of Arts, as well as, Shulitz Business School (1975) with a Master of Business Administration.
Mr. Allen joined the Government of the Northwest Territories in 1976, and held a variety of positions. These appointments included; Director of the Program Evaluation Division (1976-1979), Cabinet Secretary to the Priorities and Planning Committee (1979-1985), Executive Director to the Devolution Office for the Department of the Executive (1986-1989), and Assistant Deputy Minister to the Department of Economic Development and Tourism (1989-1993).
Currently Mr. Allen is active as the President of the Nexus Group, a consulting company which specializes in strategic planning, corporate and business planning, and socio-economic impact studies. Mr. Allen also is a Director on the Smart Communities Board and past Co-Chairman of the Living History Committee and Director of the Yellowknife Direct Charge Cooperative.
