Plant tours help our youth understand how electricity systems work

Power In Your Community

Perhaps you live in one of seven communities NTPC supplies with hydro power. Or you might live in one of the 21 communities where we operate self contained power plants. Wherever you live, NTPC employees are part of your community, working to ensure your lights are on year round. If you ever wondered where your electricity comes from, you can find the story here. NTPC employees are committed to providing high quality, reliable and safe power to our customers.

We've got you covered

All our communities have standby power sources, usually an extra generator or two that can supply the power needs of the community in an emergency.

NTPC also has emergency generators that can be transported by land or air, should the need arise. For example, in 2004, when the power plant in Fort McPherson was destroyed by fire, NTPC restored power to the community in ten hours.
