Minister responsible for NTPC appoints new President


HAY RIVER, Northwest Territories (June 27, 2017) –
Louis Sebert, Minister responsible for the Northwest Territories Power Corporation (NTPC) has appointed Jay K. Grewal as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation, effective yesterday.

Ms. Grewal has considerable experience in the resources sector, specifically energy and mining.  She was, most recently, the Senior Vice President, Strategy and Corporate Development with Capstone Mining Corporation.  She was responsible for leading strategic planning, risk management, business effectiveness, stakeholder engagement and sustainability.  Ms. Grewal also held a number of executives positions at BC Hydro, a utilities Crown Corporation including CFO (acting), Strategic Planing, Transmission, Corporate Finance and Shared Services.  Additionally, she has extensive experience as a Managing Director within the North American Finance sector.

Ms. Grewal is a graduate of the University of British Columbia and holds a M.B.A. from the University of Western Ontario.
