Hay River, NT (June 26, 2015) – Northwest Territories Power Corporation (NTPC) generates power at its Taltson hydroelectric plant for homes, businesses and offices
in the South Slave region.
The wholesale rate for the Taltson Zone, including Fort Smith, Fort Resolution and Hay River is 10.83 cents per kilowatt hour, which represents less than a 100 per cent revenue to cost coverage ratio (RCC).
Historically, Taltson wholesale rates are as follows:
| Customer | 2007/2008 RCC | 2010 RCC | 2015 RCC |
|
| GRA Phase II – Schedule E | Rate rebalancing Schedule 1.8- w/ additional breakdown | GRA Phase II Section 4-8 |
| Wholesale – Taltson Zone | 130% | 97% | 94% |
Revenue to cost coverage, or RCC, is the percentage of revenue received from the customers in a rate category, such as the Taltson wholesale rate, as a percentage of the actual cost incurred by NTPC to provide that service.
Throughout Canada utility regulators generally accept RCC ratios between 90 and 110 per cent.
