Director, Energy North Operations
Ian has more than 30 years experience in the engineering environment and emigrated to Canada in 2012 after 16 years with Rolls-Royce Marine Division in the UK, latterly as Project Manager for an EU-funded noise reduction for future fast ferries project. He joined NTPC’s Engineering Department in 2012 as a Project Manager and moved to the Thermal Asset Manager role in 2017. In his roles at NTPC, Ian led the installation of the new Colville Lake power plant system – with its combination of solar and BESS technologies. He also was responsible for the Aklavik Variable Speed Generator project. Ian brings significant experience in genset maintenance and troubleshooting as well as achieving the designation of Professional Engineer, Certified Asset Management Professional, Project Management Professional as well as MBA and Bachelor of Engineering degrees.
Ian assumed the role of Director, Energy North Operations in September 2024.
