The Paulatuk power plant, powered by diesel, has a total installed capacity of 840 kW.

NTPC purchases electricity from ESSO and resells it to the community. Norman Wells has a standby plant with two diesel powered generators with a capacity of 2.12 MW.

NTPC generates power for Ndilo at the Snare and Bluefish hydro sites and through some diesel generation at the Jackfish plant. That power is sold at wholesale rates to Northland Utilities (Yellowknife) Ltd. who distributes it to the community.

The power plant has three diesel generators with a total capacity of 290 kW. One generator was replaced in 2013.

Power is supplied by three diesel generators rated at 180, 320 and 320 kW.

Power for Kakisa is generated and distributed by Northland Utilities (NWT) Ltd.

Yellowknife, K'atl'odeeche and Enterprise are hydro communities, with power supplied by NTPC and distributed by Naka Power.

The power plant has three diesel generators with a total capacity of 265 kW. 

The Energy North regional office is located in Inuvik. There are two power plants, one diesel powered with a total capacity of 6.2 MW, and one gas powered housing three gas-fueled generators rated at 2.8 MW, 2.8 MW, and 2.1 MW. The gas plant is now operating  with liquid natural gas delivered by truck from the south. A 3.5 MW wind turbine was commissioned in 2023.

NTPC generates power for Hay River at the Taltson hydro site. Back up power is provided by diesel generation.
