Hay River, Northwest Territories, May 9, 2024 – The Northwest Territories Power Corporation (NTPC) has filed an application for interim rates to reflect the significant increase in the price of diesel over the past two years. If approved by the NWT Public Utilities Board (PUB), new rates would come into effect on June 1, 2024. Rates will be finalized sometime in 2025-26 following a PUB review of a General Rate Application that will be submitted in December 2024.

As and when electrical and mechanical services for the Hydro Region of the N.T.

communities: Whati, Gameti, Lutsel K'e, Frank Channel, Ft. Smith, Ft. Resolution, and
Yellowknife.

NTPC is looking to procure two (2) utility service trucks with telescopic/articulating aerial devices.

The NTPC intends to construct a new LNG power generation plant located near Fort Simpson, NT.  An LNG offload, storage, and regasification plant is required to supply fuel to a lineup of bi-fuel (diesel and liquified natural gas) generators located in the proposed powerhouse.

The NTPC is seeking the supply of an LNG equipment package including offload system, storage, vaporization, pressure control, and integrated control system. 

The supplier will perform food services, housekeeping services and first aid services at Snare Hydro. There is to be a minimum 2-person crew onsite 365 days of the year; the hours of work will be approximately 12 hours per day therefore the successful bidder will require the cooks to pre plan and prep food for meals to allow sufficient breaks during the day.

NPTC has transmission and distribution systems supplying essential services to its customers.  Automation is used extensively throughout NTPC generation facilities with integration of renewables.
