The Northwest Territories Power Corporation (“NTPC”) is requesting Proposals from qualified “Proponents” to provide detailed engineering services for the proposed switchgear and automation upgrades in Tsiigehtchic and Ulukhaktok. The proposed system should enable plant gensets to conduct automated operations and allow for better operational control and monitoring functionality.

NTPC requires a winter road to the Bluefish hydro facility for shift changes and to allow for transport of resupply fuels, waste removal (including sewage) and aggregate to and from site. Construct, maintain and decommission a winter road for shift change, fuel supply, waste removal and aggregate transport to and from the Bluefish hydro facility.

NTPC undertakes a substantial capital program that consists of many projects relating to the upgrading of various power generating facilities located throughout the Northwest Territories. In order to undertake the many projects that are executed concurrently, additional experienced personnel are required from time to time to represent NTPC in the field, by providing experienced and qualified Site Monitors for various capital projects as required. NTPC will qualify more than one proponent for eligibility to provide site monitors over the next year.

The Northwest Territories Power Corporation is requesting proposals from experienced Proponents for a Probable Maximum Flood Study to estimate (PMF) values for its Snare, Taltson and Bluefish hydro systems using available gauge station data from the Government of Canada.

The Northwest Territories Power Corporation (NTPC) owns and operates the Snare Hydro generating system. The Snare Hydro system consists of 5 Hydro Power plants each of which need to be shut down for 2-to-3-week periods, yearly, for necessary maintenance, inspection and repair activities.  These activities are supervised by NTPC Specialist Hydro Engineering and operations staff. The inspection usually involves entry into the Scroll Case of the Hydro Turbines – a confined space and as such standby rescuers and sometimes monitors are needed for each entry.

The objective of the project is to assemble and commission three fuel system modules for each facility at Fort Liard, Paulatuk, and Wrigley. The scope of work will be to supply, install and commission the mechanical and electrical equipment described in Appendix C – Scope of Work.
