The Northwest Territories Power Corporation requires installation of an NTPC procured 4.4MW CAT genset, including accessories at the Jackfish Generating Station. G16 Genset Installation – Design, Engineer, Install and Commission, including accessories for an integrated system (with existing gensets) a previously NTPC procured 4.4MW CAT C280 (3616) in the third bay of the CAT plant at Jackfish Generating Station in Yellowknife, NT.
NTPC’s perimeter security appliances are near their end of life. Additionally, NTPC’s SOC Monitoring Platform is no longer mature enough to meet the sophistication required for a robust detect and respond infrastructure. NTPC is looking for network security appliances at its 43 physical locations, but also considering these as the foundational inspection tools to implement something similar to an IEC 62443 Conduit and Zones model that can address modern challenges to Information and Operation Technology stacks.

GNWT ANNOUNCEMENT OF TEMPORARY ELECTRICITY RATE RELIEF

YELLOWKNIFE (June 2, 2023) – Recognizing the impact of inflation, the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) is introducing temporary relief to electricity rates. The relief will offset significant increases in the price and consumption of diesel over the past year and a half in the territory.
Northwest Territories Power Corporation (NTPC) serves a population of 44,000 people spread across 33 communities and 1.35M square km (1.18Mkm2 land) in one of the most challenging utility operating environments in the world. NTPC serves the larger communities on the North and South sides of Great Slave Lake using hydroelectricity from its hydro plants via isolated 115kV transmission networks on each side of the lake.

The Northwest Territories Power Corporation (“NTPC”) is requesting Proposals from qualified bidders (“Proponents”) to supply two (2) 22 MVA transformers. The Taltson Hydro Facility is located about 60 km northeast of Fort Smith, NT on the winter road. Winter road travel time from Fort Smith to Taltson is approximately 12 hrs round trip, See enclosed Appendix E winter road rules for travel on the winter road and Winter Road maps in Appendix F., tridem tractors are not recommended, and scissor neck trailers are required due to ground clearance issues along the winter road route.
NTPC is improving the process we use to assess our wooden poles. Mechanical testing of poles provides quantitative data to track long term trends and plan replacement programs more effectively. Successful completion of this scope of work will provide a full catalog of NTPC’s poles in the stated areas as well as data on their current health.

The Northwest Territories Power Corporation (NTPC) owns and operates the Snare Hydroelectric facilities located along the Snare River approximately 145km Northwest of Yellowknife, NT. These facilities include the Snare Rapids, Falls, Cascades and Forks which are required by water license to have a dam safety review completed every five years. The plants have operating capacities varying from 4.3MW to 9.2MW and supply the majority of electricity for the communities of Yellowknife, Behchokǫ̀, Dettah and N’Dilo.
